BBSS continues to make unique challenges as a member of SoftBank Group.

BB Softservice (BBSS) was established after spinning off from SoftBank BB Corporation in 2006. The DNA of SoftBank Group remains rooted in BBSS.
After repeating numerous challenges and failures, SoftBank Group has achieved rapid growth to make long series of success.
First launched as a distributor of IT software, BBSS repeated a trial and error process to develop into a unique company within the group in the course of a decade. In the ever-changing market, our powerful advantage is the presence of group companies, which we share the principle and receive mutual support.

BBSS’s business domains and business model

The business domains of BB Softservice encompass a broad range, including security services with a monthly fee, which we have been offering since the time of our foundation, cloud storage services, unlimited software services, E-commerce and the sale of software license for businesses.
To play a role in developing a new software market, we employ a subscription-type business model through telecommunications carriers and service providers, which are connected with our self-developed software service platform to offer products from software vendors in various fields and in-house software products. We also actively promote the expansion of this business with overseas telecommunications carriers.

We are expanding globally by offering a software service platform, mercury, with the world’s specifications.

In January 2014, SoftBank acquired the shares of Brightstar Corp.*2, the world’s largest*1 wholesale company of mobile devices, and threw its mantle over the network from the procurement and sales of mobile devices. BBSS has promptly constructed a collaborative framework with Brightstar to initiate global business expansion of software services. Also in March 2015, as part of our global expansion, BBSS released a software platform, mercury™. The collaboration with Brightstar allows us to provide software services to telecommunication carriers around the globe.
